If youre set on the 105 width range, the Zero G 105, Backland 107 or Black Diamond Helio Carbon 104 are the best 'stout' options I can think of. I also Ski at Crystal and Snoqualmie pretty frequently so I could do a handoff there as well! The waist width and shapes are pretty much the same between each line (the Helio Carbon is offered at 88, 95, 104, and 114, and the Recon at 88, 95, and 105). I live in Tacoma but frequent Cripple Creek shop in Seattle so I’m sure I’ll have a chance to do the handoff in between easily. The ‘Helio Carbon’ takes the spot in Black Diamond’s line-up that the ‘Helio’ used to occupy, while the ‘Helio Recon’ is akin to the old ‘Route’ model. $250 local sale between Tacoma and Seattle. ![]()
